Project Objective
In this paragraph I’m going to discuss the objective of the public health campaign was to co-lab with our PH clients to create an engaging design that can be used on social media platforms to raise awareness of specific topics. I was assigned a topic on e-cigarettes based on young adults and teenagers vaping in schools all over the world. Although I went a step further and focused on not only students in Exeter high schools, but anyone on social media that would like to embrace the #5W1H challenge.
Target Audience
The main target audience of the public health campaign are young adults and teenagers. Allowing a main focus inside and outside of schools in Exeter West Greenwich.
Positioning Statement
We want High School Students in Exeter West Greenwich High School to stop vaping flavored e-cigarettes, as a way to improve their health and overcome addiction, than continuing to vape e-cigarettes or more harmful substances.
Social Media Targeting
Although our main focus is on these 5 different social media platforms, there may be other apps this post could effect students in all high schools.

Desired Behavior
For this purpose, students in local schools should stop vaping e-cigarettes to better health and save money in their wallets. As a result of students taking advantage of what they’re doing, it will benefit their lives in many ways.
Design Rational for Public Health Campaign
The concept based around this design is who, what, when, where, why, and how. I decided to use a bright color palette that would attract younger teens and adults via social media platforms. Next I added parts of a sentence that come together to form a full sentence that says “You can quit smoking! E cigarettes right now right here for a healthier future with dedication!” Last, each square also has its own assigned color to resemble each topic.
Color Palette
Hence the colorful template I chose to use for this design, it will have an impact on attracting my target audiences attention. In fact these colors focus on a younger audience, which can increase readership on social media platforms.

But below that I concentrated on one title/catching phrase my client had which was “Judge The Juul”. Last, I added a hashtag (5W1H) at the top right of the post, along with a call to action which will enable young adults and teenagers to post this post on their Snapchat stories along with other social media platforms. Since the internet is a huge part of everyones lives it’s extremely important to focus on social interactions.
Barriers
First, there are many barriers that juuling prevents kids in high schools from doing. Such as nicotine addiction as well as lack of education. In addition to these to main focuses there are many other barriers that effect young adults and teenagers.
Benefits
Second, although there are many barriers to smoking e-cigarettes, there are also many benefits when someone quits smoking e-cigarettes. Such as your overall health improving. In addition to your health improving you will also be saving much more money in your wallet.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I do believe this is a very attractive design that could get young adults and teenagers to think twice when smoking e-cigarettes, I also designed the poster to have a vertical line to lead the target audiences eye.
